Let's have a San Francisco photo outing Sunday October 25. Depending on the weather, we could go to the Marin headlands, or down the coast, or anywhere. I'm imagining an early start. Email me if you are interested. Include phone numbers and ideas for where to go depending on whether it's rainy, foggy, or clear.

This is a great idea, Tony, but I'm alreadly scheduled for the 25th. If the
date falls through or if the outing is so popular that another trip is planned
in the futre, I'll try to go.

I'm not sure about the 25th, but there's going to be some minus tides this weekend -- great for tidepool action. Fitzgerald Marine Reserve to the south, or Duxbury Reef to the north, anyone?

Any news on local color from the Big Leaf Maples or Black Oaks? Last year on this day I hiked the Fall Creek Trail in the Santa Cruz Mtns. and the leaves were still mostly green with only some which had turned color. But I have heard this year they may be turning a bit early.
* Update: I just spoke with the ranger from Henry Coe SP in Morgan Hill and he said the colors (Big Leaf Maples or Black Oaks) are starting to turn. But he expects it to be peak in about 1-2 weeks there.
