While processing my fall photos tonight, I stumbled onto my version of the Oxbow Bend pano. Thought I better add it to the collection here. What a morning ... and it only got better.

This was captured before sunrise on October 3rd. 10 second exposure, 3 shots stitched. Nikon D2x + 16-85mm.

Very nice pano and lovely colors in those trees but dude, where's the rest?! I'm itchin' to see you fall photos from up yonder.

...and it only got better.

Well, isn't THAT an intriguing little aside! If it got better than this pano, I gotta see that. This one's beautiful!

Well, maybe just a little better ... in fact, I was probably just thrilled to see anything but wind and snow for at least one morning.

Hope to post about 90 photos to my website, blog, facebook ... somewhere ... soon.

Nice work Jesse! I like that little extra fog you got in there. I don't know if we are going to get any color around here or not.

Purdy!
Bring 'em on!

Both are wonderful!! Smooth water is always nice, and the drifting clouds would have been great to witness and photograph. Can't wait to see more Jesse!!

Sweet stuff, and I really like the "only got better" alternate view!

Nice shots Jesse! I love the pre-dawn pano. I see you hiked up the hillside for the aerial view after starting down below along the shoreline. I did the same thing on the same day and have the exact same shot as the second one you linked. We probably rubbed elbows at one point. We need RMNP hats or something so we can identify each other next time! I can't wait to see the other images you captured.

Jesse, these images are so 'clean' and 'crisp' feeling, makes me want to be there. The contrasting orange and reds are so great against the cool blue. Nice work man!

Isn't that large chunk of rock Mount Moran?

'Clean & crisp' were my first thoughts, as well.
Beautiful panorama, with a slight nod to the second for the quality of light.

Moran indeed, Chris.

I think you're right Dean. Kinda just going straight to brown around the house ... winter showed up early, and seems to be getting quite comfortable.

Oh hey, Brett ... were you one of the guys jumping up and down in the cold on that hillside, and I asked you to stop shaking the ground? Yeah, I was the guy getting in your shots as I was scrambling around.

Beautiful capture. You guys had a killer morning that morning! Can't wait to see more.

Wow, that pano is great, but the 'got better' shot is amazing. The clouds, the autumn color and then the cool pastel colors - great stuff all the way around!

Pretty friggin sweet Mr. Speer.

Wall Hanger for sure Jesse!!

Sweet stuff. Now we've completed the trifecta of pano versions! The light is sweet on that second shot. Its too bad I didn't really make my way up that hillside until after the weather went bad (again).

Spectacular

I will echo everyone els's comments! You had much better weather than I did in northern Wisconsin and the U.P. of Michigan where I had wind and rain for 8 out of 10 days.

Wow, just wow. All three of pano's posted are just amazing. I really wish I could have been there.

That's an amazing shot! That really worked out well. Thanks for sharing the results!

Both beauties, Jesse! I'm partial to the 2nd one. Gotta love the icons.

Jesse,

This is stunning...what a morning to have been right there. Great capture.
Posted by Doug Roane on October 14, 2009 at 8:40 AM
Stunning is the word, Jesse - the smooth water, the colors, comp - great stuff! I like the 2nd one too.

Nice capture, I was there the other days ugh. Missed it this year oh well hopefully there will be another year!

Jesse, you must have been standing in my footprints that I left on October 2nd!! Missed you by one day!! You should have seen the snow on the 2nd - I can see a lot of it melted by the 3rd. I was airborn by the time you clicked the shutter for that first shot.

Great pano - wish I would have finally met you!
Posted by Morris McClung on October 14, 2009 at 6:36 PM
Excellent luminosity and color as usual. I will be watching for the other 90 shots! Bring them on!
Posted by Jesse Speer on October 14, 2009 at 8:13 PM
Of course ... I had to go home for an emergency on the 2nd Carl. I heard it was the best morning of the week. I'll look forward to seeing pics from that day.

Thank you all for adding feedback. :toast:
