Wow! Is it wet or what? Early this morning I parked at the Upper Buffalo Wilderness sign on Cave Mountain Road. My intention was to revisit Wyatts' Folly. Some of you mistakenly know it as Neil Comptons' Twin Falls(;)). Anyhoo my plan was to get back there and get myself out and not get lost.
The weather talked me out of it. I ended up shooting a few frames at Ambers Falls which were running very full. Whittaker Creek is rising by the minute and I am sure the big falls have a massive flow today but.....Nice light for images but intermittently I was in some of the hardest rain I have ever been in. Also lots of clouds everywhere in the trees. Not to mention the intense blast of wind that happened about 0930 and with a lot of large limbs crashing to the ground around me(leftovers from the ice storm in the spring) I decided that my health was worth a bit more.
I did use my GPS to guide me out and I ended up about 30 yards below my truck on the road. So I can backtrack and mark spome waypoints. Much easier having topo maps on the device with the ROAD showing up!
I am on the road and unable to post any images for a few days. I do plan on getting to Smith Creek and if the rain calms down going to Richland Creek hoping that the muddy flow that I expect in there right now will clear up.
don't die out there Bob. I got hit in the head by a small limb yesterday at Graves Canyon and it hurt. I think what hurt the most was the fact that I was the one that threw the limb. It ended up breaking as I tried to throw it and the large section of it landed on my head and then almost knocked my camera and tripod into the creek.
Be careful out there.

Something tells me that you might want to consider other locations for a while Bob
