Morning Above Boulder
I shot this from Sugarloaf Mountain the other morning. I have difficulty with low light shots so let me know what you think.

You can see a larger version on Flickr:

Thanks for looking!

WOW great shot Jeff,
Love the colors and the comp is excellent, foreground is a tad dark but it could just be my un caliberated monitor at work.
After seeing the bigger version It looks more incredible. The overall feeling i get is very peaceful and great colors!

Uh, I'd like to have the same "difficulty" that you're having. Killer shot! :toast:

Really awesome shot, but overall substantially too dark.

I really like this and don't mind the overall too dark. Very stylish, and evocative.

Those clouds look like ocean waves!
I like it just as is...I can see detail in the foreground. Great idea placing the tree right into the sun.
Very well done all the way around!

Oooh, definitely get to the larger version. Love the apparent vignette.

Wow! This is great, Jeff. I love where you placed the sun.

Hi Folks,

Thanks for all the great feedback). My problem with shooting in the dark is judging how dark to leave an exposure (everything metered fine, etc.) Also, the shots I've seen like this are brighter, which left me with the sense this was too dark, but they also have lots of snow in them too. This seemed to capture the moment pretty well.

Thanks again,

Jeff
