This was between twin falls and where it joins up with richland creek. I met a group of probably 15 kayakers near here.

I'm thinking about going into Bowers Hollow tomorrow, anyone have any idea of how high the water would be? Also, how do you get your girlfriend from freaking out because you spent all day in the woods soaking in great scenery?

Nice shot, I wish I could have seen those kayakers. I just got back from Bowers and it was flowing wonderfully, should still be good tomorrow. I will post a shot in a little while.

Very nice, Jon. I'll bet the yakers were back out this morning - I'd love to catch a few coming over some falls...just have to figure out how to get there first.

Great shot of a great location Jon. Is it safe to assume it is also an indicator of how much green remains in that area? Oh, and I've been married for 15 years, so my wife loves the spring waterfall and fall foliage seasons ;)

Hey Jon - take her with you. Then she will understand. From then on she will either want to be out there with you every minute, or be really glad that you did not take her with you - she'll be happy sitting at home!

A beautiul image Jon. Well composed and I agree much greener than I would of thought. I know this rapid very well and cannot believe how much it has changed. It's called upper scew up and this spot is called door #1.The creek has totally moved the rocks above the waterfall. It's amazing how the force of big water can move all those big rocks around. It has always been one of the toughest rapids on the creek but now looks easier and safer.

Well done Jon. This is such a beautiful area with all the moss covered rocks. I also like the way you composed this. Great!

Nice shot. That is a cool scene... You need to give your girl a camera and bring her along! It worked for me.

It was nice meeting all you guys out there last weekend, it seems that i hardly ever see anyone when i go out hiking so seeing so many people out was kind of a shock.

Ive taken her with me a few times, and i think she enjoys it but she doesnt want to put the labor into it that it takes. I think shes just worried about me falling off the top of a waterfall mostly.

One good thing to tell her about that Jon, is that if you are standing directly on top of the waterfall, you will most certainly land in the water! Of course, many of the pools at the base of the waterfalls around here are only an inch or two deep - a great scenic trip down, but the landing can be a bear...

Given the recent events that Ed endured I'd say she is justified in her worries Jon. I'm a known chicken when it comes to heights but a life without some risk would never get our heart pumping, we just need to manage both the best we can.

BTW, nice image.
