Well one mile into Bowers this morning I realized I had left my tripod in the car. The second time I have done this in the past few weeks. I ran pretty much the entire way back out to the car and sort of half jogged/walked the way back in. The sun was trying to break through and I didn't want to be late. The sun ended up cooperating. I was planning on doing Comptons Double after Bowers but my legs were telling me different and I am glad I didn't make the extra hike now. It has been a rough week on my legs.
When I did pass the parking spot for Compton's I noticed a van that I am pretty sure belonged to Gale Rainwater. Maybe Gale will have another wonderful post for us.

Matt really beautiful. Perfect level and the fall color really makes this a special shot!!! Love it! Yea that was my van. Shot it and someone showed up that was up on the top ledge. I'm afraid the Bowers hike would kick my butt honestly. I can see why you wouldn't do both. I sure wouldn't. My good computer is at work so maybe a post from Compton's as soon as I have time there.

Wonderful shot Matt. How was the hike, in regards to the amount of ice damage? I made that trip this past spring, but I wonder if the vines and underbrush have gotten very thick over the spring and summer.

Awesome shot Matt! The foilage framing this out really make it beautiful! Bravo!!
John the hike isn't too bad. I hiked in the day after you did this spring and I think the hike yesterday was actually easier. Going down into the canyon is a lot easier on the river left side.

Very nice shot. Great colors! This looks like a great waterfall.
I hiked into bowers today, the waterfall is still running well. I agree with matt, the hike in now seems alot easier than it did this spring, the trail is worn in pretty well, even around all the downed trees. Bowers is really a special place as this photo shows.
