Seal Pups
Photo of these two Common Seal pups taken at Donna Nook as the sun was breaking the horizon behind them, the one on the right of the picture was having a little look at me while the other pup was coming around, I got into place as I thought this 'L' shape made for a different composition.

Love the atmosphere this one has!
The B&W works well here!

I like the composition of the seals Craig, though that horizon is a bit 'hard'. I think I'd prefer to see this in colour as the sky in this shot doesn't lend itself to the B/W treatment as it is too bland.
However, my missus has just walked in and said she loves it and I'm talking out of my bottom..... so there, what do I know !!!

I really like the black and white version and the L shape formed by the seals works great.
Perhaps stopping down a bit would have worked well so as to get the nearest seal as sharp as the one behind.
Great angle and the pano format works a treat.

I'm with the B & W image also Craig. Think it works really well.

Not sure about the colour-v- monochrome but the composition makes it for me.

Coloured version for me, but the comp is excellent in both.

The composition and crop work well, I like both but I do feel that more DoF was needed as I am not too fond of the foreground seal being very slightly OOF.

At the risk of being boring - the B&W works best and I agree about more DoF.

Cheers,
Chris

B&W one for me too Craig.

Nice article in this months BW magazine Craig, the Dipper stretching it's wing is a superb image.

Well seen Craig and food for thought with the comparisons. BW seems to be order of the day + little more DOFbut not always easy to think of whilst out in the field and your subject may be just about to move.

Hello again Craig, having seen the colour version I must admit that the B/W is better. However, for me the image (in B/W or in colour) is let down by that bland sky. I had hoped that in the colour version there may have been a bit more 'dawn glow' to the sky. It's a shame as the composition and the expression of the pup on the right is excellent.
all the best,
Robert
