Arrogance? Elegance?
1D2n, 600mm f4 is, 1/160s, f4, iso 200.

I'm not normally keen on head on shots, but every time I open this image, it grows on me. What do you think?

I like it and think the head-on viewpoint works fine, in this instance.

Your distinctive style shows through every time. Excellent.

I like it and feel that the head on view here is working, particularly with your low viewpoint giving the impression that the swan is looking down on you... arrogant and proud...

I know what you mean about head on shots Ian but I agree that this one really does work - it's a beauty :toast:

Hi Ian,

in most cases I do not like head on shots but there is always the exception to the rule and this is one of them.

Nice trademark low point of view and bow wave make it for me

I like this one too Ian and agree with John re the bow wave, very nice, do you have a shot showing the full reflection, as I think that would also make a cracking image.

This head on shot works just fine Ian. I do think if the subject was a little smaller in frame it would work even better.

Many thanks for the very helpful comments on this one. At the pond, it's a constant compromise between subject size in frame, length of reflection and distance from background. I have loads of these now and it's very interesting to hear the views of others when I'm getting a bit saturated with them!

Hi Ian,

The head-on shot works very well here. Lovely image, with a nice low point of view.
