This is my first post to this forum. I actually found out about this forum yesterday as I was hiking out from Twin Falls when I ran in to Ed Cooley coming in and we stopped to chat for a few minutes. He is the one who suggested I should check this forum out. I'm glad I did! I could not believe the news when I visited Tim Ernst's journal this morning and read that Ed had to be rescued after falling at Twin Falls.
Here is one of my photos taken yesterday at Twin Falls. I welcome any critiques you can give me.
I would probably lower the blue saturation, get the water to look a little whiter.
Welcome. I believe I spoke with you via e-mail a while back about a couple pictures that we took at Richland in November of 2007 that looked identical.
Yes, I do remember that. It was the close-up of the water running over the rocks in Richland Creek when the water was low. That was my first time into Richland Creek and I hiked in from the campgrounds. That hike is much easier than from the cemetery. I really wish they would get the road fixed so you could reach the campground from Falling Water Creek.
Thanks for the color tweak suggestion. It did make the water look better. I re-uploaded the photo so hopefully the corrected one will show up now.
You can still reach the campground you just have to drive all the way around. You probably couldn't have crossed Richland creek though to see Twin Falls.

Welcome, Matt. Beautiful shot. I like how you've maintained a lot of texture and detail in the surface of the stream. The waterfalls have a bit of purplish cast on my monitor, but the colors in the foliage are terrific. I look forward to seeing more of your photos.

Matt,
I believe I picked up your stream booties on my way out! Beautiful image. Glenn Wheeler and I bushwhacked until 3:30 and then figured we were still about 30 min from the falls and so bailed. Halfway back to the cemetary we ran into the first rescue group. When they noted that both Glenn and I had Spots they were hoping we had hit a wrong button. No such luck.
Glenn and I hotfooted it back to the cemetary and then hiked back into the area with Glenn having his high-angle rescue pack and me toting a med pack. Around 8 pm someone had finally located Glenn and I was so tired I could barely put one foot in front of the other. One other fellow from the Rescue squad(Glen Shipman I belive) hiked out at that point. I know that Ed did not get helicoptered out until about 730 this morning.

Welcome, Matt, your first post is a winner. Lots of water and fall colors on Twin Devil's Falls is a true rarity!

Great first shot Matt..Welcome to the forum! I bet you didn't expect all this excitement your first day on the forum. Ed's story will stick with all of us who dare to venture out into the wilderness. It definitely hits home.
Your shot is really nice...I like the angle you chose. The colors are strong, but not over done...Nice job!
