Scary looking up close! Really nice shot, I like the composition and position of the legs fanning out around the frame. Nice background too, detailed, but not distracting as the body is in a smooth bit. Quite fascinating up close, the legs look blue! :toast:

Amazing looking specimen. Does it actually have blue legs? I got told off today for flicking a spider off my leg. I was told it was more like a boot up the a** I had given it

Thanks girls for the comments. The legs look black at normal magnification, but take on a blue tinge when at higher magnification I find.

Maggie, it was obviously a very discerning spider that was crawling on your leg.  Such is the caprice of the 'gentler' sex.

Hi David,
The fan of the legs really works in the composition.

Good to see something new.

such a difficult subject. excellently handled. maybe the blue is coming from processing as the leaves look a little off, but maybe that is from the autumn. :toast: :toast:

Thanks writepic for confirming what the girls suggested about the blue tinge. On reflection I had clicked on auto colour correction by mistake and didn't notice the colour change.

Here is a much more realistic repost.

Now that one I recognise - looks like the one I flicked off my leg but a chap of your intellect obviously goes for the blue stocking

Such a difficult species to frame.... You have really done well here, and the repost with better colour is great, for a change BIF works for me and the legs leaving the frame shows how 'gangly' they are....
