I've been lurking on here for quite some time and hope to start posting more now that I've started to process some of my photos. I haven't really processed and for about two or three years now so I've got a lot to get done. I'm really hoping to improve in this area so any comments are appreciated.
Anyways this is from a backpacking trip to the Beartooths this last summer. I spend most my time in this range so I hope to post quite a bit more photos from it in the future.
This is very nice - what a wonderful location. The water really pulls the eye into the image. (Looks as if it could stand being a little brighter overall.)

I've always wanted to backpack in the Beartooths but just haven't committed to it. After seeing this photo I'm more energized to make it happen.
Beautiful scenery and a really interesting composition. I like the unusual perspective a lot. Good work!

Fantastic! What a wonderful looking place. The sky looks about right, but the rest of the image needs to be lightened considerably.

Really nice!
I think I'd like to see the whole thing a tad brighter as Stephen said.
Looking forward to seeing more from this area.
Thanks all for the input, really appreciate it. After looking at it again I think the consensus that it need to brighter is correct. I usually view my photos on a black background so I think that may have something to do with it. I'll work on that and post a brighter version in a bit. I also really need to get my monitor calibrated.
Here is a lighter web version I think its a bit closer to what my psd looks like.
or not.....it keeps showing up much darker when I upload it for some reason.

For someone who hasn't been processing for a while this is a great start. I actually like it a little bit dark. It has a Marc Adamus-like processing feel to it. If you lighten it up more, don't go overboard. Fantastic comp, location and wonderful sky. Like Bret said, it proves I need to get up north more often too.
Edit: I like the repost!

Jeremy, what kind of photo equipment did you haul in your backpack to get this pic? These are great!

Excellent shot!
Great vantage point you chose. I really like the snow patterns here. Without them, this wouldn't have nearly the impact. Real nice 'developing', too. Looking forward to seeing more of your work!

Thanks kathyrn.
Just a canon 40D and a 10-22 lens. I've been meaning to upgrade for a while now but it looks like its not going to happen till next summer. I try to spend every weekend backpacking in the beartooths during the summer. As for as backpacking equipment I'm just using a gregory pack and a cheapo one person Alps tent. Not much but they get the job done.
Brett- You should definitely pay a visit to the area one of these days. If you ever run into a guy with the screen name of hikerjer on the backpacker forums, that's my father he has alot of good info on the range. I seem to remember seeing a post or two by you on there, if not, my bad

Greetings from a fellow Bozemanite. Started my membership about 3 weeks ago. I've been in this area and pretty much know where you took this shot. Beartooths are absolutely awesome and there are some special places if you are willing to go off trail. Great fishing too. Fantastic photo! I took something similar to this along the Beartooth highway on the Wyoming side this summer. I'll have to post it when I get it processed. Nice sky and I love all the snow. Nice work!

Thanks for the compliments. Got to agree with you about the off trail part, one of my favorite things to do, definitely makes for some incredible views.

You'll get lots of help here these guys are great.
One tip though, it's your image and your vision so you'll know best how you'd like it to appear.
Now get back to processing. We want to see more!
