I have a page set up on Facebook too; please have a look and if you like what you see "Become a Fan"!

Like Bret, I will be using the FB page for announcements, giveaways etc.

The only problem I have with putting images on facebook is there is no way to protect them. I was able to right click and save image directly to my desktop. Given the recent issue of image compromise, I'd like to see more photo protection in their posting areas. I realize this can be a great potential for marketing of products though.

Jack, I can do the same thing with photos from this site.

Go ahead and save my photos to your desktop; use them as your wallpaper or screensaver if you like. Make a print to put on your refrigerator. I fully support the personal, non-commercial use of my images and I welcome everyone to share my pictures with other people they know.

But if you reproduce my pictures for commercial use, in any way, without my permission, you will be faced with the full extent of the U.S. copyright law. I have registered with the Copyright Office every image I post online, which allows me to sue for monetary damages for unauthorized use/reproduction.

I own these pictures and all rights to them, and I won't give them up. By posting these pictures on someone else's web site I am not giving up these rights.

Some web site terms of use, like Facebook's, stipulate that they can use the photos in their own marketing. Whatever. I'm not worried.

My intent is to promote and propagate my work wherever and however I can. I'm protected by the law and I have a plan behind my distribution of these images.

And like Scott Bacon recently reminded us, it's not hard to find out when someone has crossed the line.

I'd much rather take the risk of the rare lowlife crook than keep my pictures locked up only on my own computer.

Couldn't have said it better myself. Enjoy Facebook. I sure have. I look forward to keeping up with your page.

Well said Nat! I only post small images on my Facebook, same as I do on here. There is not much you can do from people downloading those from most websites, but that is why you make them small images and honestly that is the point.
