Was sitting in the garden enjoying an 82 degree day here in Colorado! when the collared doves scattered, a red tail appeared and made a clumsy attempt at landing on the cottonwood tree, then fell off and landed on a nearby fence post. I grabbed my camera and got a couple of shots, soon a second red tail joined the first, then the first one left and then the second one took off. Fun. They are regular visitors usually looking into the magpies nests to find some nice babies to eat.

And then a while later a flock of 48 sandhill cranes came over making lots of noise, what a nice day! Must be near time for Bosque!

Bill, nice shots of the redtail and cranes. Did you happen to get any shots of the balloon bird?
