My first foray out with the Nikon 45mm PC lens. Bubbling Springs on 10/15/2009.
I like the colors and the DoF created with the waterfall, but I really think I fell down on the water itself. If you have any suggestions on how I might improve the water in this image, do tell!
Thomas Biggs is our water shot expert and he might have some very helpful advice.
Take these for what its worth:
When I am including water movement in a shot there are two things I try to keep in mind. 1.) I always try to use a polarizer, 2.) If possible, plan on shooting your water shots early in the morning or late in the evening. Or when ther is heavy cloud cover before or after a rain shower. What this will allow you to do is slow everything down and allow you to capture the water over a 1-4 sec exposure. This will give you the beautiful cotton effect that I think you are talking about.
Thomas may be able to describe these in better detail, but these are some basic tips.
