I've always wanted to shoot this rock (rather arch - although you can't see it from this angle), but I never found a comp or the light good enough. Yesterday the sunset was completely socked in, so I thought I'd give it a try with a different mood. I liked the way the rock looked like a cabin cruiser slipping off into the distant sea.

An apt title, Eric! I like your timing of the waves.
What an awesome use of such 'bland' and 'dismal' conditions Eric, it certainly works! I'd consider a slight crop off the top (5:7 aspect ratio) as there's a fair bit of empty space up there.
The people that live above that arch have giant spotlights that light it up at night! It was pretty neat to see when I was walking back from my "Jupiter" shoot last month.

Well done Eric,
The mood and tone are well suited to a BW conversion. Even with the muted light you still pulled out the foreground which really makes this image.

HI Eric
I like the fact you took advantage of what was available. Very dynamic scene with alot of nice movement. I agree with Floris' crop suggestion.
Eric, You really have a wonderful capture here. It often difficult to deal with the fog, but you've done a great job here. Best Regards.

Thanks all for all the feedback... it is much appreciated. I'm guess I'm gonna have to rethink my crop alternatives... I rarely deviate outside of the 3:2 ratio. I wish I could show this at a much bigger size, for so much impact and detail gets lost in this small web version.

This is a great photo. Good use of the conditions.
Fabulous capture in the foggy mist - the title is perfect and the B&W is very suitable here. Nice work!
