Hericium coralloides

One of the most beautiful fungi in the UK and also very rare now.
Tried to show a bit of habitat but was very dark and not that inspiring!

Very interesting, and great to see a rareity in the fungi world, its not quite working for me however, I think because the highlights in the background draw my eye more than the fungi, it certainly does not look to be an easy species to photograph, I too would like a closer view.

Wow, that's amazing, never seen anything like that before. I really like the 'environment' shot, but have to agree with Phil here, it's just too contrasty. Is the view any better on the other side on the tree?

The background isn't ideal but the fungi itself is great, especially the way it stands out so well from the darker tree trunk. A very good find.

Very nice. I agree the backdrop is a bit eye catching but still a great concept.

Did'nt have my macro kit with me but this gives you an idea of the beauty and coral like appearance!
