I must confess that every Broncos game I've watched in the regular season this year, I kept expecting the "real" Broncos to show up and start stinkin' up the joint, but now it appears -- and has appeared for the last few weeks -- that Kyle Orton, Josh McDaniels and the gang are the REAL DEAL! Both sides of the ball! They are fun to watch. Keep it up, boys!

Da Bears!

I agree Todd, I am loving every game and it looks like Mr McDaniels (obviously Scottish) is one smart guy! What I like most is that he has got rid of the prima donnas and the guys in the team now are willing to listen and learn. Fantastic start to the season. We came to the US in 96 and watched them win 2 Superbowls and then it went downhill, so it's especially nice to see the improvement now!

hahaha - I have been in the exact same boat. I watched the Bears game Sunday night and I found myself thinking how glad I am that we don't have Cutler now. He makes a lot of poor decisions still, a little too emotional on the field, etc.
After watching the Broncs last night, those feelings were confirmed. Orton stays within the gameplan that McDaniels has laid out and it is working!! Cutler and McD would have been banging heads all season.

Oh yeah - not sure if there are any hockey fans out there but the Avs have gotten off to a great start as well!! It's a long way to go, but I like what I see from our young players.
I was expecting a long season on the ice as well, but I have been pleasantly surprised by both teams!

Not to be a downer, but let's remember a 3 game lead last year with 3 games to go, and not making the playoffs. Of course it is a different regime and qb.

With my Minnesota roots, I'll always be a Vikings fan at heart but I've also enjoyed following the Broncos since I've moved out here. To watch both teams start 6-0 has been pretty cool!
Gee Morris, why don't you go back to that 1/2 empty cup of coffee?
Different defensive coordinator and some new additions to the defense will make sure the Broncos are a long way from the 29th crappiest in the league like they were last year.
With an inspired head coach and a quarterback who knows how to win (compare his lifetime won/loss to Cutler's!) the offense is in better shape this year too.
It's enough to actually have me cheering for the team after living here for 20 years and rooting against them the whole time.

Its all in the vertical striped socks -- which I like. As a lifelong Denver-area-ite I went through some big ups and downs but the last couple of seasons were among the hardest. This year has been fun, and I might have been in the minority when Cutler was shipped out -- I thought it was a good move. Talent can only get you so far, but he lacked a lot in terms of leadership and maturity. I didn't see the next Elway or Favre, I saw the next Jeff George. What a game last night, though!

The most beautiful ugly uniforms in history. Go Broncos!

The ol' Donkeys have surprised me. Being a Browns fan I should hate Denver, but I don't and Elroy did more with less over his career than any QB I've ever seen. We (the Browns) need Jim Brown back. I think in todays game he would probably only average 4.5 yds / carry instead of 5.2, but you have to remember he's seventy years old!

As the former team photographer for first, the Kansas City Chiefs, and then in the '80's---the Broncos, I'm sure glad I live in Colorado and root for the Broncos these days!
So, here's an OT subject that seems to draw as many or more comments as most photo subjects! So, when wondering if the forum is alive and well, just introduce a sports comment!! Oh, yeah. I'm believer now too. I keep waiting for the stink bomb to explode but they keep after it. So, I can't say Soooper Bowl yet, but I am beginning to suggest playoffs. Whoda thunkit!
Rod,
while you were shooting the chiefs/broncos I was shooting the Cleveland Browns. Had some good teams then but glad I'm a bronco fan now too!!

As a life-long Broncs fan I have to say there is something new in this team that I've never seen before even in the superbowl (winning) teams:
They LEARN from their first half mistakes/problems and fix 'em in the second half. What a strange new concept!

Chuck, you beat me to it. I totally agree. In the past the team would come out all fired up, score some points, take a lead into halftime, and then come back out and collapse. Now they seem to be playing the entire game. One of the commentators on the MNF broadcast mentioned that McDaniels started making the players practice in pads all day long to build stamina. Especially for the defense, which can lose a lot of energy reacting to an opponent, it appears to have worked very well. I wish they weren't off this weekend. I'd like to see them keep the momentum going.
