Fall Color Below Morrison

spent the morning at convict lake last sunday w/ breezy to down right windy conditions late am. I was hoping to get a reflection shot of laurel mtn, but it wasn't meant to be. So I shot just about everything else! This is a shot w/ the ridge line just east of morrison. the cirrus clouds we had coming in were just amazing all day. the colors from tom's place to lee vining really came together a few days prior to last weekend by the looks of it.

Nice comp. You used the daylight very well- blue sky, whispy white clouds and the mountain just peeking over the bright yellow tree line reminds me of a crisp fall day. Well done.

I love the crisp colors and soft sidelight on the foliage. This has a very "autumn" feel to it.

I was up there the week before and hiked up convict canyon. Love Laurel Mtn. Great clouds in this one.

Cory, what a great way to spend a Sunday morning. Nice color and composition. Maybe a little too much sharpening, but still really nicely done. Best Regards.

The comp feels a little tight near the bottom, but the color contrast and overall crispness of the image is spot on. A very nice Eastern Sierra fall image!

Cory,

Hey, sorry we missed you at the gathering on the 4th!

This is crisp and captures the autumn feeling very well. Honestly though, for me, it feels a little cut off - like I want to see more of the trees at the bottom, but I suspect there was a reason why you didn't include more, so I forgive you. Still, a great autumn capture from the E.Sierra.
