One more stag
Hi,

One more, because I can't make my mind up about this one. I want it to be good, but there are things about it that bother me. It's a little different I think, but I don't think I quite achieved what I'd hoped. Maybe the foremost stag should be roaring also?

- at Richmond at about 11:30 am
- with a D700 and 300 f/4 + 1.4 converter - 1/180, f6.7 and ISO 400

I'm not certain about this one either David. If, as you say, the foremost stag was roaring it would be a cracker. As it is the main subject just looks a bit bored with it all ! Good try anyway.

Personally I like it - I can see Mr Lawrence's point and I think he is correct, however I think it looks quite comical. :toast:

Hi David, I like this shot. I don't mind the foremost stag not roaring, he seems quite serene. I think I would have preferred all his antlers to be in shot (obviously difficult with a prime, unless you move back). Nice capture

Hi David,

I probably like this shot more than most other park shots I've seen lately, it all gets a bit, dare I say, boring and you've managed to get something different which definitely has a story to it. The look on the foreground stags face and the other roaring in the bg with his hinds says it all. The cut off antlers don't worry me either, if it had more room around it then I don't think it would work as well. Just my opinion of course!

Cheers,

Lewis.

I also really like this, there's lots going on, colour, action, two stags and doe's. It works really well for me. :toast:
