Hmmm... that should be rather embarassing for the original team to have their DNA analysis refuted!

And the legend continues...

That ought to make for an interesting presentation during the Bluff Arts Festival. I can't wait to hear what Denny Bellson has to say now.

The panel discussion may very well be cancelled.
After all, what is there to discuss?

I caught that in the paper today and thought about you and John. The mystery continues.

From the Bluff Arts Festival:

Warm greetings to all of you Everett Ruess enthusiasts.
As you may know by now, it has been discovered and reported that the remains found near Comb Ridge are not those of the young adventurer. I spoke with David Roberts and Vaughn Hadenfeldt this morning. They are proceeding with the Everett Ruess presentation. They as well as I believe this latest revelation adds one more layer to the mystery and fascination which is Everett Ruess. In researching his book about Ruess, David has discovered more interesting information about the young explorer. In his conversation with Brian Ruess, he found him to be very generous and understanding about the entire situation. Obviously, it is a tremendous disappointment to the family, yet they are hopeful that there may be a resolution one day.
My purpose in contacting each of you is to let you know that the focus of the Everett Ruess presentation will, for necessary reasons, change somewhat. What I have found as I am alerting the numerous people who have made reservations for this particular discussion is that they don't mind that the remains turned out not to be Ruess. They are simply interested in hearing, talking and learning more about him.
