Last week I posted a more traditional shot of a group of mushrooms, here's the same group of mushrooms given the wideangle treatment. I'm aware that the bright highlights in the top left are a bit distracting but unfortunately I couldn't get an angle where these were totally removed.

Canon 40D with Tokina 10-17mm fisheye at 17mm, f11, 1/20, ISO 200.

Here's a 1000 pixel version.

All C+C welcomed.

I like these sorts of images - a bit different from the norm. As you say the highlights are a bit distracting but it is hard to get them without.

Good one Matt. As you say -pity a bout the sky.

The sky doesn't worry me too much, as it places the subject nicely in the context of its location. Nice work!

I really like this type of shot I think the brightness in the background suggests a warm sunny autumn day, but others will see it differently I don't doubt.

I like this version too Matt. :toast:
You've retained the detail and prominence of the main subject but by revealing more of the background the viewer's eye is then invited down the path into the woodland beyond. The bright highlights don't bother me too much but looking at the lie of the land and the tree angles in the background I do wonder if just a touch of ccw rotation might be worth trying - just a thought

I like it, despite the OOF fern leaf on the left.
