I asked this in mid-thread downstream, and am not sure anyone noticed it, but: how are the fall color conditions currently at Silver Falls S.P.? At peak, close to it, or still some time to go?
Thanks!

The images I've seen on flickr in the last few days look like it is peaking right now.

Let's just say that I'm glad I didn't read that last post until I'd gotten back from my trip down there (my first ever) with some really nice images. I'm not doubting your evaluation, but all I can say is, if this is "pretty crappy," I can hardly wait to see a year with good color!

I just made a "road trip" through the western valley, up the McKenzie, and back down through Sweet Home, Lebanon, and Silver Creek. I must say that this year is not as good as last year. It seems that some of the species have not started turning yet, some are peaking, and some have already lost all their leaves. I'm thinking that the heavy rain we had last week, and the lack of a real cold spell, are attributing to the conditions. I'll post one of my pics from this trip (once I get home).

I was there last week on wednesday, first time also, and drove all over the surrounding country side ( got Lost ). I thought the colors were great. At least for me. I live in the Mojave Desert.
