Hi All,
I am experiencing a problem that I have never run into before. My new DVD of CS4 will not load on my computer. I have a Lite-On DVDRW 832. I have reinstalled the drivers, updated the decoder software to a Roxio Pack today and still it won't load. At first I thought the data was missing from the disc for some reason but trying the disc in a different computer today; it started the main installation screen just fine. Any help would be greatly appreciated as I need to update my web-store with transparent gif layering asap.
Thanks in advance for any help

John, can your computer read other DVDs? If not, then the answer is obvious. If it can, perhaps you can copy the DVD on another computer and try installing from the copy. Also, you might try downloading CS4 from Adobe and using the 30 day trial. Then you might be able to add your license key. Good luck.

Thanks for the response. The DVD player does movies just fine but I am thinking the problem may be with the unit. I have read that most DVD players have an internal decoder on their chips and this may be the culprit. I didn't know that CS4 was available for download on a 30 day trial so I will try that today. Again, thanks for the help
John:
You never mentioned what brand of computer you are using. I'm only asking because I ran into an installation peculiarity on an ACER. It was security setting that needed to be changed, Have you "GOOGLED" the problem?

I had thought about the security settings as in "administrator" only but haven't checked on that aspect yet. I will do so shortly. CS4 has been downloaded from the Adobe site and I did have a chance to enter my license information at that time so hopefully, I will be able to address the DVD issue at my leisure. Thanks again for the responses as it was really starting to bother me that I couldn't find the answer to loading.

I should have mentioned that I built my computer utilizing an AMD64 chip and a Gateway mother board. I should have mentioned that in my first post. It's about 2 1/2 years old and up until this issue I have absolutely no problems with it.
Check the Adobe discussion forum for the product. I got advice there that finally got CS4 to install on my machine. I had installed a demo version and it was he** to install the real version after that.

Thanks for the response Pete. I have run into a similar problem with my free 30 day download. I copied the CS4 disc onto my 16gb flash drive on a friends computer. I deleted the downloaded program from my system and installed the copied CS4 and entered the correct code for the product when loading. I still have the trial screen coming up and asking for a code each time I start the program so we will see what happens when the trial period is up. If it shuts down on me I will be forced to deal with the notoriously bad Customer Service! Thanks again for all the responses and hopefully I can start learning to us the software instead of worrying about codes and so forth!
