I'm so excited to be going, I've only been there over the summer and have never seen the place during fall so I can hardly wait. I was just wondering if anyone has any advice when taking landscape shots that involve being up high, a lot of rock formations and what not. I don't know if anyone here has ever been to Garden of the Gods in Illinois but it is pretty cool.

It has been several years since I have been there. It is a great area when the leaves are turning. There is the photograph everyone see from atop the gog 1/4 mile loop. Also there are a lot of other sites to capture while walking around the loop and taking more intimate scenes rather than the grand landscape. Also, little photographed areas would be on the trail at the end of the parking lot. http://www.bing.com/maps/default.aspx?v=2&FORM=LMLTCP&cp=37.603777~-88.378218&style=h&lvl=16&tilt=-90&dir=0&alt=-1000&phx=0&phy=0&phscl=1&sp=Point.q80vhv7n13tr_gog%20trailhead_Take%20this%20trail%20at%20then%20end%20of%20parking%20lot___~Point.q80qtg7n15gp_parking%20lot%20on%20both%20sides%20of%20pushpin%20marker____~Point.q80qkk7n1152_rock%20formations____&encType=1
This is a link to bing maps with location.
Also, if you get a chance stop by Bell Smith Springs and if there is water running, Burden Falls. Both are nice places.
