Hello from Antarctica
I am currently living and working at McMurdo, and had a chance to go into Scott's Discovery Hut...amazing place.

These are great pictures Cynthia. Sure looks cold from inside that hut. How long are you there for?
Posted by Cynthia Spence on October 25, 2009 at 12:39 AM
About 4 months...it actually is cold since the design was meant to keep the cool air in...kind of mistake by the Aussies who pre-designed it for Robert Scott...in fact they ended up sleeping in the ship the Disocovery at times.

I love the natural light that you've used Cynthia. This sounds like an adventure, what are you doing in Antarctica?

How awesome it would be to live and work in Antarctica for 4 months. Please make lots of photos and share them on a regular basis. And, stay warm.

Great images! Really like the interior images.

Too cool. I keep telling myself to take one of those Antarctica jobs for the Winter (well winter here in Colorado, summer there) just for the photography experience. I hope you keep posting some of your stuff while you are there as I might be more interested in actually working down there.

Wow how awesome is that! You are fortunate to be in such an incrdible place, and I cannot wait for your pics from here over the next 4 months.

Cool shots, Cynthia. Have a great deployment. I had a friend who was supposed to be down there with Ratheon but he got medically disqualified. Enjoy your stay!
