Folks,
Local news reported that I-40 has been blocked by a landslide in both directions at Mile Marker 3 in North Carolina. The slide is reported to be 50 feet deep and 100 feet long, so it probably will not be cleared and repaired before all fall color is gone.
You can detour via I-81 and I-26 (Erwin) or you could do the gravel road from Big Creek to Cataloochee.
