If they haven't gone fishing they sit preening all day or seem to. Cormorants make great subjects imho.

1D3 canon 800mm Tripod 800mm f/9.0 1/320 sec. Full frame not a crop in sight.

Thanks for looking

Much better than your previous shot I saw, although it is rather tight at the bottom, easily fixed, can’t help feeling that a vertical might have worked better, I would have at least looked at it as a possibility. Well seen and taken.

Barry, from your posts, I sense that you are hungry to learn, might I suggest that you see if you can tag along with some of those who post on here, it was what I did. I got lucky, and finally contacted a member on this forum, we met up and I learnt far more from him in one day, than I ever did on all the courses and workshops I have been on. His fees are high, the cost of a cup of tea, but he did supply lunch in the form of a Sub-Way. In fact I have now been out several times with him, and each time what I learn has helped me no end, with my photography. Give it a go, what have you got to lose.

Thanks for the comments, John that is a great idea if anyone is prepared to have a shadow tag along for a while I'll travel and buy the tea. I'm home until the new year.

Any offer please shoot me an e-mail.

Barry,

the pose from the bird is great.... I assume its raw, if so I do think a lot more can be extracted...

Will email you in the next few days, will be e a little busy first part of this week.

Great pose and I like the perch too, just needs a little more canvas at the bottom, nice one Barry.

Nits covered, a very nice image indeed, one of your best so far methinks, well done.
