after all the bellowing stag pictures that have been on here over the last little while, my own efforts look a little puny, once again i've failed to get an image with a decent stag to frame ratio, so i've gone the other way and posted an image with a large frame to hind ratio
very early morning on a fairly dull day, have desaturated the image and have removed a bit of sky that had crept in

Hi Jack, Nice lead into the deer. Reminds me of one of the shots in the WPOTY this year. Work well for me.

I really like this. This is often the way we see the red deer over here. Very very shy and difficult to get near. Very nice.
Like it Jack, the lead in from the 'road' with the hind looking small and vunerable is what makes this for me, I might just trim a little from the top, perhaps to 10x8 proportions, but that is not a nit.....

Plenty of 'atmosphere' to this image. Really, really nice.

I really like this Jack, love the lead in to the little deer.
Yes Jack a different image but I like this very much. Agree about cropping a little from the top but the lead in to the deer is really good.

Not too many replies on this one Jack, but before it dropped off the page, I just wanted to say how much I like it. As Edwin says it is a real life shot. The road and the trees give it tremendous depth imo, which just suggests that they are overpowering the subject a bit. Wild woodland deer are nothing if not shy and this shot says it all. Eric
