Great time meeting everyone this weekend. Hate that I couldn't be there more but the couple of visits around the campfire were VERY nice and it was great to finally put a few faces with the names.
Really good folks on this group!!!
Taken Friday along the Cabin trail.

David, you have captured a very nice scene. I never made it to the cabin trail but I will make it next trip. It was great meeting you last night and visiting about Lake Conway. One of these days I hope to catch one of the Cypress tree shots that you have been so proficient at getting.

Is this up above the bridge? I didnt go that direction. Very nice! Glad you got a chance to visit with us. It was a lot of fun!
Thanks, Tom! I look forward to our next meeting. If you're ever headed through Conway just give me a buzz and we'll take a trip out.
Karla, yes, this is just a little below the cabin. Probably no more than 50 yards down the upper trailhead from the entrance left of the cabin. I made it down to the bridge but didn't go any further not knowing when the lungs would give out.
Question to all -- does this image look "flat" to you on your monitor? For some reason, when I send my pics through Photobucket where they are hosted they frequently seem to lose all contrast and vibrance. On my monitor in PS this shot is just alive with color, but here it just seems to go blah. Any ideas?

That seems to happen a lot when posting. I have been boosting the saturation and vibrance about 5 to 10 points more than I think looks good on my monitor and it seems to help. I even posted a shot not too long ago on my PBase and it looked flat, so I deleted it boosted the sat and reposted. Your shot looks a little flat on my end, but not real bad.

You should have picked up every pretty leaf that you could find and place them on all the boulders. Just messing with ya! Very nice framing. Karla's correct. Just over saturate just a little bit and post it. When I used photobucket to upload to this site last year, it was always flat. I joined the group and used their upload version and it improved. So all my images for the last 9 months look almost as good as they did when I worked on them. You can hit my website to see the 1100 pix wide version to see the difference.
Thank you again for the use of the D300. It made my weekend even better!
Are your images being converted to sRGB? Just a thought, it's the only thing I could think of.

It was nice to meet you last weekend, David. I'm glad you had some time to come out and meet everyone. Do you happen to have any D3x's laying around that I could borrow?
This image may be just a bit flat, but not bad...I really like the composition. Well done!
Thanks, Bill! I went back to Photobucket and boosted the contrast and saturation a bit on the image there and it seems to have helped here as well. Regardless, I love this shot and hope to get back up and try for a few more this week.
Great to meet you this past week. Just wish I had had a bit more time around the campfire with all of you. I promise--the next extra D3x that comes through my office will have a reserved sticker on it just for you!!

Real nice job on this one Dave. I really like the comp here.
I'm just starting to take a close look at the images from last weekend and from the looks of it there was some very nice work produced. I wish I could have made it down to meet many of the newer faces on CSNP but it just wasn't in the cards.
But there's always the spring gathering!

NIcely done Dave. The boulders by themselves are great, and then you've got a nice stream running through the middle with a wonderful backdrop of fall foliage.
Dave I had a great time meeting you. You have a good eye and this is really a nice shot. Come see our store sometime. I'm sure you would love our clothes.
Thanks Gale! I assure you, the pleasure this weekend was all mine. I feel it a great privilege to be associated with the talent represented on this board.
Watch your door--I may come slippin' in any day!

I'm just getting around to commenting on this weekend's posts. This is a really nice scene that you've captured. I didn't notice it when I was walking the trail. Well seen and shot.
It was great to meet you. I wish you would have been able to stick around longer.
