This is amazing..they activated their emergency locater because their water tasted "salty"....sheesh. They should be billed for this one.

Incredible! 3 calls for help in 3 days!
I sure hope these people were sent a big bill.

You mean I can't push the 911 button if I forgot my spork? Geez, you guys are brutal!

I can't believe SAR gave those yahoos three chances before they pulled the morons out of there. After the second time, it would have been far more appropriate to take all of their food and water and tell them they would return in two days so the idiots could learn what a real emergency is.

If you only knew the stuff people call regular 9-1-1 for, none of this would come as a surprise.

Regarding Todd's link, I have to say I side with the crazy McNuggets lady. The press made it out to be a funny story about a woman calling 911 because McD's was out of McNuggets. But in reality, she was calling 911 because the cashier basically stole her money. I would have been pissed, too. Not sure I would have called 911, but I certainly would have raised some hell. Sorry to get off-topic.

I did both ground and aerial SAR for nearly 14 years. You wouldn't believe the way some people spoke to SAR teams when we woke them up in the middle of the night because they were broadcasting a distress signal in a non-distress situation.

I just can't imagine that. I'd be absolutely mortified if I had accidentally or unnecessarily mobilized all those people and equipment. Not be all like "nah, turns out I don't need help after all. I'll catch you next time though!"
