Song Thrush
Pool 2. What was interesting was the factthat the bird was there drinking for quite a while and I never even saw it. (Old age ) Great camo, although some will find the backdrop messy. But that's how it is .I liked the thistle down too. Larger aperture than normal for me,to throw the back out more

Another beautiful subject image John with those deep colours of the substrate showing through. Can I ask.. Have you thought about or ever used a wide angle lens set up on a tripod with a remote release..? Some of the great shots you've been obtaining could lend themselves to a nice wide angle view of the subject in it's 'pool' environment..?

Thanks both.
Brett
Its almost impossible to predict the spots they use, and the proximity of the camera would mean one shot and off ! I don't really want to risk that as its taken so long to get them almost settled ! There are others who have done the WA stuff and to be honest it always looks a bit contrived to me.
Might try it in the garden birds though . PS I,ve sent you a pm re Slow worms
Cheers

Pleny of snails in my garden, but not many Song Thrushes. Very nice indeed.

Song thrushes have deserted my garden as well. Nice to see that someone still has them.

Very nice John, the bird looks in top condition! I also like the thistle down, adds a little more to it. I'm sure the man with many names will have something to say about the backdrop, but I like it!

Cheers,

Lewis.

They seem to be a bit of a rarity these days, so it is refreshing to see such a wonderful image John.

A beautiful Song Thrush, and I love the setting - the stones around the waters edge - it all has a very natural feel to it. :toast:
