Great Grey Shrike
I was lucky to have a close encounter with a magnificent Great Grey Shrike the other morning. However it was at 08:10am when daylight was just starting to appear so the light conditions where pretty dull.

Canon EOS 1D Mark III
EF500 mm f/4L IS USM + 1.4x
1/160 sec @ F/6.3
ISO 800

All comments most welcome - thanks for looking.

A beautiful result if just a tad soft. Great in the conditions you describe.

Hi Steve,

Not many good shots of this species around, you've done really well to get this! Perhaps a little more room above the bird would have clinched it for me. Super bird!

Cheers,

Lewis.

Thanks for all your comments. Lewis I see what you mean about a little more room on top, which I do have just cropped it a bit tight. Think I will re-process - many thanks all. :wavey:
