Based on Lon's great post and input I thought I would start another thread on Sunday night. If you were there please post your unique perspective on things.
I caught up with Preston, Lon and others Sunday. Here are a couple of mine, one of which I posted on ESS (the close up).
But this one is kind of growing on me. It might look better with a pano crop. Although I like the darker clouds above as well.
Seeing the moonlight on the lake was really awesome. Thanks for the heads up on where to shoot Lon!

Thanks for starting this Derek. I really like what you captured here. My only suggestion might be to increase the brightness a little, but this does show a great mood and quite fitting for a Mono Lake landscape.
I know there are quite a few of you who were there, so lets see your interpretations. On Sunday night, I was down at the shore and I think Chris C, Steve S, Mat M. and one of the Mikes were all there. I think Paul and Preston had bagged it for the evening.
So I was all set up just waiting for the moon. Still chuckling over Steve's little mis-step in to the muck. It was appearing that the moon was going to be a no show because of the clouds. I actually decided to call it a night because it was getting darker than I thought the film could handle with a bright moon, so pulled up stakes and moved the tripod. OF COURSE right after I did that, the moon began to appear above the clouds. I knew I wouldn't have time to redo everything, but I put the tripod back where it was anyway, framed it loosely and exposed 1 sheet of film. It looks ok on the web now, but I can tell you that the tufa is unfortunately out of focus and this will be unprintable.
Here's my rendition. I'd be real curious to see what others captured and their interpretations in terms of color and saturation.

Yeah, I always go back and forth on the brightness with these twilight shots. I really like to preserve the mood of semi-darkness. But it is also nice to get the extra pop of color and definition when brightenting things up a bit.
Your interpretation of the color and brightness really work well here I must say. And this is a great comp. I really like the perspective you guys were getting down by the water. I almost went on the other side of those Tufus - kinda in between them. A place I scoped out earlier. But then opted for the road view instead.
As far as Steve's mishap in the mud I can only imagine. That stuff is like quicksand along the water's egde. My son Luke almost fell in a couple of times down there.
I almost missed the moon as well. Luke was sitting in the van asking 'Can we go to dinner now?' And he has way more patience than the ladies in my family for this sort of thing. So I turned around to leave and all of a sudden the moon hit me - bam! Great things comes to those who wait.
One last funny thing. I had a bunch of Touristas along the water's edge I had to clone out in the original! One guy looked like he was firing his flash at the moon. But I know that couldn't have been you.

Oh and BTW, check out the Sierra cloud that was going on in the other direction. I think it almost could have been a 180 degree pano.

Here's mine from Saturday night. I almost disappeared into the muck as well. Live and learn. My boots were so stinky of sulfur that I couldn't leave them in my room.

Wow, way cool shot Tony! Another unique perspective. Nice afterglow colors and the birds are a great touch to the foreground. It almost looks like they are checking out the moon together as well.

While I enjoy the details in the close-up, I prefer the overall comp and setting in the wider angle. I might prefer a very slight crop off the top (preserving the cloud tops though). Other than that this looks very nice to me. Well done!

Thanks Eric,
I actually did a pano crop of this one which I may like better than the 2x3 aspect ratio version I posted above:

I think the close-up really reflects the misty mood and tend to like it more:
