I am in Irvine this week and have been searching for some locations for sunset. I was thinking of some of the beaches in the Laguna Beach area because it is so close.

It looks like tomorrow night might be good but a bit windy. It looks like sunset tomorrow is at high tide so I don't know where would be the best. Any suggestions?

Martin,

I'm a Long Beach Local, check out the topic below yours Pt. Vincente is on the Palos Verdes penisula. Then there's Always Royal Palms, or if you prefer City Lights there's Signal Hill Park. Laguna Beach is more South facing so the sunset is more on the right. I'm not sure If it's setting in the Catalina Channel yet. but the Sunset this evening had some color in it. E-mail me on this reply if you like. Always happy to share. No surf for awhile, but with Off shore winds this week, if we get any good cloud cover with high altitude cirrus there could be some really great color. There won't be any marine layer to block the horizon.

Laguna beach is great, email Eric Good for some insider tips. Though, given high tide sunset, I bet I know his recommendation: Moss Cove, it's great up to ~5ft tides (and at low tide).

Actually I was thinking of going to Moss Cove. I have been there a couple of times in the past.

I will send Eric Good an email as you suggested and see what his thoughts are on the subject.

I appreciate your help.
