I had to make a quick trip to Joplin today for a lunch meeting, so on the way back, I made a detour to Devil's Den State Park. It is right on the way home.
The rain really brought out the saturated colors and the creek was running! I think this is my favorite so far.

Beautiful shot, Tom. Looks like the color is holding out nicely at Devil's Den. I'd say you caught everything perfectly. Nice day at work...

Way to make the detour Tom! I wish my job had those opportunities! The color is really nice up there still. Looks good!
Great to see you this weekend!
Tom really a good job on the composition on this one. The branches of color and spillway are just right. Whoever designed this spillway did a good job to make it a beautiful one with water coming over. Talk to ya later

It looks like Devils Den is still good. I can probably make it over there because it's like 20 minutes away. It's nice to take a detour especially on the clock.

Hey Aaron, based on what I saw yesterday, it may be the best color around, especially along Lee Creek.

I had planned on stopping by there last Friday on my way to the gathering, but my GPS led me astray. I got frustrated afterward and headed on to Kings River where the color was all but gone. Seeing this shot just rekindles my frustration from that day. Good job on it, Tom.

The bold verticals add a kind of counterpoint to the serenity and muted colors of the scene.

Nicely done. That is what I am striving to do.
