I'm trying to clean the haze/shmear off of my Hoya Pro1 Digital CPL... I don't want to spray any powerful cleaners on it. How do you guys/gals get yours clean? I used an inferior microfiber cleaning cloth on it that ADDED the slime on the glass, now I'm struggling to get it off.
I'd run that microfiber cloth through the washer and dryer, then try it again. They need that now and then, and perhaps yours needed it as a starting point. I say that because ours eventually start doing what you describe, but after a wash/dry cycle they do an incredibly good job of desliming filters.

Sometimes I just run mine under the kitchen faucett and use a little dish soap.

I use soap and water. And/or lens pen followed by clean micro-fiber cloth

It WORKED, thanks! The soap that worked best was Method liquid soap (from Target) that my wife has at our bathroom sink (Ivory dish soap didn't work too well). I blew the water drops off with a hair dryer after rinsing, then cleaned the remaining residue with my microfiber cloth that had gone through the washer/dryer, a la Hank.
