Congrats to anyone who happened to be shooting this morning... that sunrise was nothing short of spectacular in the Denver metro area. I was out at the gym, sitting around with my jaw on the floor as I watched the sun rise. Some days I guess you just need to relax and watch the beauty.

Said the man without a camera.

I know just what you mean, Koveh. After shooting concerts for a living many years ago, it was really hard for me to go to a show without a camera once my press days were over. I'm past that now, but it took a while.

Wish we had color down south this morning. Not that I would've gotten any shots off...

"Epic" came to mind as I watched this unfold during my commute. I hope someone was out shooting this.

So 5 days in a row I tossed the G10 in the car for the 48 mile commute down 83 to the Springs. This morning the weather gal on channel 9 told me it was completely overcast so I left it at home. LIARS! They're all LIARS!

I will agree it was nothing short of spectacular up north. Darn having to get those kids ready for school. I am starting to agree with Todd's opinion of them.

It was also great down in the Springs!

Driving to work today, I travel down Federal by Invesco Field and the colors reflecting off the metallic exterior of the stadium would have made for a ridiculous Bronco-themed photo.

the best camera is the one which is with you...

It was really incredible! I always knew showers were overrated, this time it made me miss shooting the best sunrise I've seen in a very long time.

Interesting, I make that same trip about 2 times a week. Parker to Briargate Pwy. I'm not a morning person so i don't leave til around 8-8:15 or so. I wonder how many times we have seen each other.

Very interesting indeed. My office is on Briargate Pkwy and Chapel Hills though I travel about 90 minutes earlier than you do and I'm on the road 5 days a week. I almost always take 83 though. I-25 is Evil.

In the words of my 5 year old, who I hastily ushered outside to the front porch to join me... "Wow, dad! That IS pretty awesome. I've never seen the sky all pink and orange like that."

Ok, folks, these posts show why a pic is worth a thousand words :jump: Who has the goods?!

Kids or school? I like the former, as long as they belong to someone else and they're not screaming in restaurants or movie theaters. Never had much use for the latter, which is probably why I attended "class" in Acacia Park.

I was not out shooting but ran out of my building to take this. Don't hit me too hard this is my first photo post--a newbie. I had my D300s (new) with me and saw the sunrise from my office where I went early. I did little adjustment in Aperture to straighten and try to get the DR under control.

Thanks, Brad!

I'm glad someone got a picture so others on here didn't think I was making things up. My jaw seriously dropped.. for about 5 min it was just amazing.

Glad someone got something. I got a shot or two but it was fading. From my house the sky was orange from the east all the way behind Pike's Peak. This is the second great sunrise in almost as many days that my camera has been idle. I'm going to have to glue it to my forehead.

Wht don't these things happen on Saturday mornings? I can't buy a great sunrise anymore. Nice catch, Brad. There was another epic one last Thursday, I think it was, while on my way to Ft. Collins. Epic and it lasted forever. Any of you guys up north get that one?
