About the scale of it..!
Taken a while ago now, but I still enjoy this image and since I've been sorting through these for a talk I'm preparing I thought I'd share it with you.. It is simply the close-up of some Adder (Vipera berus) scales. This large female was very cooperative when taking shots and so managed a few frames of these..

Kind regards,

Brett

Reminds me of Autumn! Fantastic abstract and I like the monochrome pallet.

Brilliant! You can imagine a dinosaur of some sort having a flank like that and this would be life sized.

Flipping eck Brett! Thats awesome. Very cooperative seems to be an understatement! Have you still got all your fingers intact? Super detail and really interesting to see where the scales meet the body. :toast:

I could have sworn this was of autumn leaves or something, save for the caption. It's a wonderful picture, and reminds me that nature is even more versatile when you look a little further...

Great pattern shot. You can see why they say that birds and reptiles/dinosaurs are closely related. Look like small budding feathers (to my fevered imagination).
