I didn't get a photo of everyone, but managed to catch a few in this shot. We made a side trip over to Flatside Pinacle to check on the progress. This weekend will be the weekend to go to the Flatside Pinacle area. From left to right is Bryan,Matt,Bill,Tom,and Jon.

We came across a Tarantula while atop Flatside. Poor thing had the nature Paparazzi all over him. Matt kept the spider in the light while Bryan and Jon got in on the action.

Most of us can't stand spiders, but lucky for us we had Matt!

Gale, Matt and I made another side trip over to Buzzards Roost to catch the sunrise on Saturday morning.

Nice to put some faces with names!
You have Tarantulas in Arkansas??? I hate spiders...not sure if I could do any photography in Arkansas now that I know that.
Yea Scott tarantulas are very common here. They are really harmless though. I would have picked him if I hadn't pissed him of by dragging him out of a hole with a stick.

Those are some great shots, Mike and Matthew! I really enjoyed getting out to shoot with everybody, and the conversations around the campfire. Thanks for not taking a picture of me nodding off to sleep!

Gale, is that an motorized pano head or just a super duper precise pano head?
Matthew, I really like those two shots with Bill and Gale.

Yes Bryan, absolutely Mikes fault, he should have never pointed that thing at me in the first place. Perfect example of why I am way more comfortable behind the camera rather than in front of it.

Man, that's an impressive group of photographers! I'm really sorry I missed the gathering now. Thanks for sharing the candid portraits, it is nice to put the face with the name.

And I agree completely with Bill: the conversations were as enjoyable as the shooting.
