What is it?
Took this photo in January at Galveston. Not sure what it is. I am hopeless when it comes to this group of birds. Is it a wimberly? Photo was take with a Canon SurShot S 3

It appears to be a Willet John.

Looks like a Willet that may be going through a plumage change or maybe a winter plumage. I only know what these guys look like in the summer

Not a wimberly - that's a gimbal mount tripod head. :jump:

Thank you, not sure where I got wimberly from, no wonder I can't ID the bird if I have been looking at an equipment catalog!!!!
