One from the narrows
Yesterday Scott Borger and myself spent 5 hours hiking the narrows in 50 degree water, the deepest part was upto my waist. I don't think we even saw 10 people in the narrows. I would say this is not your everyday narrows shot. What do you gals and guys think?

Canon 5DMKII

I wouldn't have guessed it were the narrows if ya didn't mention it. I like the slow-shuttered cotton candy effect of the water, but the dull colored backdrop isn't doing a lot for me. That's just my opinion...others may think differently.

Did you rent a drysuit or bring your own waders for the hike or just tough out the cold waters?

I like the top portion because it is different! Joe.

Very original and a real beauty, Jody!

Definitely like it, because it is different from all of the other Narrows shots I've seen.

The foreground is nice, but I'm not big on the wall; you'd think it was something industrial if you didn't know it.

That wall has the potential for some great abstracts.

I like the creek but the wall makes it really interesting.

The juxtaposition of silky water and colorful rocks against the abstract wall make this a stunning image. Well-crafted! :toast:

Sweet!
I really like it for the reasons mentioned, just a couple hot spots in the water.

Looks great. Really like the wall looks like painted artifacts.

Great foreground and the very different background really looks amazing with the water flowing at right angles to it.

Nice capture of the patterns on the wall in the background. Very nice.

This is sooooo unique. Excellent! Those patterns on the wall, and that light, all just great.

Jody, I like all the individual pieces - wall, silky water, foreground rocks - but the whole just doesn't have the impact that your photos usually do. I'm wondering if I'd feel differently with a B&W conversion. Did you make any other comps?

As others have said, really unique, those walls almost look man made.

Well, it doesnt scream 'Narrows' but its a cool shot, nevertheless!
