Wild boar from last spring
No new stuff yet so finally some time to clean up my cards and hard disks. I did have a good time with this fellow. Very shy in the beginning but more relaxed after a month or so. Unfortunatly he got scared off by an older female with piglets. A shame because I think we could have become good friends:)

I like the portrait format on this Edwin. A little more'life'in the eye would have been a bonus and I'm guessing there is a bit more detail in the large version. A good picture.

Almost smiling at you..! Love the colours in this and the use of DOF. I don't know if, and i'm still contemplating, if the comp works for me or not..? It certainly works for publication purposes but at the same time looks a little lost in the frame.. :confused: I'll keep coming back and will probably change my mind again.. :biggrin:

Hi Edwin,

Nice shot, I quite like the comp. Looks like he's found something tasty, do you feed them?

Cheers,

Lewis.

Thanks guys :wavey:

Yes I feed them with pig food from a farmer. I fed them everyday at the same hour. They are quick learners but also very smart. After a month or so they knew I was sitting in the hide. At first they ran off when the wind direction changed but after a few days they were OK with my human scent. The fact they didn't see me, made them aware constantly but relaxed enough to get some shots.

I like the comp as is. The greens look a bit bright on my laptop? As Brett says, a very publishable shot.

Maggie - it just depends what he's been lying in at the time - but he always tries to look pretty 'cos unlike me he's not old and decrepit enough to be past caring :biggrin: :biggrin:

Heyup you long streak of Dutch whotsit - real nice image.

For me the comp is perfect for both editorial and for display, and I think it's possibly the most appealing of the series you did earlier - nice one matey :toast:

Hello you Dutch B£%&&"D

Fantastic shot Ed this is a wild wild boar, you spent months doing it, feeding them everyday, in all weather and you only get 8 bloody comments, yet we see a shot of a kite, seal, swan, where all we do is turn up and take the bleeding picture and it gets twice as many, what is this forum turning into, I ask you :rolleyes:

Amazing pictures, amazing fieldcraft but I still hate you.
