Keep the great fall images coming. I thought you might like an update on me.
I ended up having three surgeries with two of them at st. Francis in Tulsa.
I am in my third day at the kaiser rehab hospital (also in Tulsa). It is amazing how quickly they make progress. The already have me using a wheelchair, walker and crutches. It is hard to believe that in only a couple days from being flat on my back I am comfortably moble even climbing flights of stairs.
I should be released to go home on November 5th.
Each day the pain seems a little less than the day before. Last night was the first good nights sleep since the accident.
I am not supposed to put any weight on my right leg for 90 days so it will be some time before I resume my normal activities.

Thanks for the update Ed, I am glad to hear you are feeling better! Keep working hard and you will be ready to get back behind the camera before you know it! I am still looking forward to seeing your new gallery in Rogers.

You had quite an ordeal, Ed. I'm glad you're doing so well so fast. Stay positive and do what the drs. tell you, and you'll be back to normal in no time flat!! We're all behind you here at CSNP and wishing you a speedy rehab so you can get back out there and make beautiful images again soon

Ed it is great to hear from you and I am very pleased to hear that your progress toward recovery is going so well. Getting back home will really help with the mental aspect of the healing process.
I'll bet the holiday season around the Cooley household will be very special this year ... lots to give thanks for!

Great news, Ed! I pastored a church in Stround, OK many years ago so I spent numerous hours visiting folks at St. Francis. Great facility and I know you received excellent care there and will continue to do so at Kaiser.
Our prayers continue to be with you and your family as you recover.

Ed, I'm glad to hear your recovery is going well. I believe that the speed of the recovery is often as much a testament of the man as it is the therapy he receives.
Ed it's great to hear from you and we are so glad your recovery is coming along. Pretty soon you won't be couped up inside and can get back to doing some photography. Life has it's challenges and we all have to go through them sometimes. I will contiunue to pray for you and your family.

Glad you are able to get online and have some interaction besides 4 walls, institutional paint, and bad food! Get better soon and I look forward to meeting you someday in person. I was just about 500 yards from you a couple of Thursdays ago!;)

A number of years ago, a friend who was around 50 at the time suffered a major pelvic fracture. Six plates, ~40 screws, and she was dancing in 3 months. I hope your recovery goes just as well, even with the added ankle fracture. Good luck.

Ed,
Glad to hear you are progressing with your recovery. We're all pulling for you.
Any surgeries planned for your camera? I've never sent a get well card for a camera but I might for that bad boy!

I talked to Ed last night and he sounded great. His therapy is going well, and they actually have him up and moving around on crutches and a walker. He's going home tomorrow!
That's good news, I'm sure Ed will be glad to get home.

I'm back home now.
Today makes 4 weeks since the accident.
I am seeing small improvements each day with routine therapy workouts.

I got the opportunity to see Ed yesterday. He is in great spirits and mending quickly. Also anxious to get back out and creating images.

Another update:
Had a follow-up with the ortho surgeon today. He has cleared me to start weight bearing rehab on my broken leg a month ahead of his original plans.
The current plan calls for 2-3 sessions a week for 6 weeks. Hopefully I'll be walking by the end of January. If that holds I will have a couple of months to build strength for shooting spring!

I just wanted to close out this thread with a huge thank you to all those who prayed and encouraged me through my accident and recovery. I can't tell you how much it helped through the whole repair and recovery. I am eternally grateful to all of you.
I am walking pretty with just a minor limp now and exercising to build strength for spring shooting.
Bill feel free to untag this whenever you see fit.

Great news and amazing progress, Ed, to be less than four months removed from what you went through and be up and about on your own two legs. Good shooting this spring, and see to it that you don't jump off any more bluffs.
