Moorhen and Bottle
1D2n, 600mm f4 is x1.4, 1/400s, f7.1, iso 200

It took me a while to work out what was attracting this bird's attention. It turned out to be an upturned plastic bottle. Add to that a supermarket trolley, a partially submerged football and a few plastic bags and it's surprising that the pond is flourishing as it is. Man and nature interacting......

hi ian

love the shoot, great pov, with all the refuge (bottle/s, trolly/footbal and such), sounds like typical british landscape - sadly, however not taking anything away from your subject great colour, detail and image

Beautiful image Ian. If you hadn't explained the bottle I would never have figured it out. Nature always seems to overcome mans indiscretions (although we do try to make things difficult).

The Moorhen looks lovely, but I think if the bottle was in the same plane of focus this would have greater impact and really tell a story.

Agree with Simon's observation re the bottle but good to see this type of image on the forum.

Wish I could find a site that allowed this PoV

Cheers,
Chris

Your pond with the right light makes all your images a bit special!

Another great image from you but I also join the opinion that there is not enough focus on the bottle to offer anything extra to the image and therefore becomes a little distraction. I think there is a good story to be told in shots like this just need a little more emphasis on the bottle/rubbish. That said, everything else is up to your usual benchmark.

Hi Ian
Missed this earlier. Wonderful shot. Low angle really works on this one too.
Good stuff.
