Nice one Ian. Maybe a little bit central though? Still nice to get Voley in the water.

Why couldn't you have gone off to meet Mr Camo Hotpants in the carpark and I could have photographed Voley

Hi Ian,

Lovely shot! I don't mind the central comp with this one, looks like he's having fun in the middle lol! Detail looks great too.

Cheers,

Lewis.

Another one eating Potamogeton. So envious. Not seen one for years. None around here.
Gtraet shot.

You missed nothing in the car park

Cute shot - could be improved further with a lower PoV; and before you say you couldn't get any lower I'm saying you could - if you think about it   :wavey:

Those pics of Joe Strummer on your site take me back a bit mate - I too was a drug-prowling wolf once!

Yet another species I have yet to get!
I'm with Lewis on this one, I don't mind the central comp but I think a tad of CW rotation ( to level the water?) would help and and the OOF stem just behind his head is a bit distracting.

Nice shot, you were fortunate to find one so far out in the open. I agree with Andy about the lower POV, but do not know how realistic an option that was.

I like the central position but agree about the rotation. Very cute critters that I'm not having much luck with

Nits covered. I too think the central composition works, primarily because the circular ripples of water suit a central comp. If anything, if it were mine I'd even try cropping a bit from top and bottom to crerate a narrower image.
These used to be as common as muck around the castle in Caerphilly where I grew up (many years ago). If only I'd been into photography then !!

Hi Ian

Very nice - I like the ring of water around the vole which you would loose with a LPOV!

Nits covered but a greta capture nonetheless and I think the overcast days often bring out the rich colour in their coats, so you did well on that count.

Agree about the viewpoint Ian, but very nice none the less

looks very nice to me Ian. All I would do to this is a small CW rotation. You did well to get one eating like this.
