Subway report for 10/30
I guess Erik's laptop battery didn't find a charge yet, so here's an image from today on the way up to the Subway.

Plenty of nice foliage on the ground. Maples are well past prime and not many red leaves to be found in the cascades or pools.

What's left on the trees foliage-wise is certainly nice enough, but doesn't have much of a "glow" to it. This was my first trip up the Left Fork, so I can't compare to prior years.

However it compares, it was still a wonderful place to visit. (Can't say I enjoyed the climb out at the end of the hike though!)

Nice capture, Stephen. Look forward to the rest.

Very nice comp, strong foreground leading to a good background.
Fall seems to have hit early in Zion this year. A couple of years ago I went in around Nov 8 and there was a few more leaves on the trees but many on the ground and in the stream as well.

This is really nice. Excellent comp and color. :toast:

Boy, I'd like to make it out there for fall some year. From the looks of it, I could have spent at least an hour just in this location! Hopefully, one of you guys will let me tag along, in the future.

Nice capture.

My subway report for 10/30 was the chicken breast on wheat toasted with veggies.

Come on Neil - you're holding out on us. 6" or foot long?

Thanks for the report, Stephen (and a heckuva nice shot as well). The leaves on the ground are the reason I'll still make the trip out there even if those on the trees were almost gone. Hopefully, I'll get out there on Monday (if I can get a permit when arriving tomorrow afternoon). Can't wait!

Oh I thought it would be a given, since the foot long is $5.

Great image. Really like the angle and the rich color.

Good luck with your trip Guy. One more tip - the trail goes faster if you're prepared to get your feet wet. Keeping them dry involves some tiresome detours around the large rocks that litter the creek. I changed into rented canyoneering boots a couple of miles in and they stayed on all the way back.

Nice! This look very familiar. I think I was standing and shooting at this exact spot the next day.
