Canyonlands by moonlight
This was taken last night at the Green River Overlook at Canyonlands National Park. The moon really lit up the white rim some 1000 feet below. In the full size image I can see what must be a vehicle headlight in the Maze district just to the left of Cleopatra's Chair that I could not see with my eyes.

As others have said, the Utah skies are real clear.

Boy this is really nice Ken. Makes me wish I had headed for the Green River Overlook after shooting the full moon rise in Arches last May. The name of the far distant snow covered mountains eludes me now but it is amazing to see them so clearly in this moon lit shot. This one's going to grow on me!

Hey Ken a great spot and a lovely original take on it. Like you said very clear sky and I love the deep saturated colors of this image.

Ken, great shot with the moon light. I did not make it to this spot, but as you know there is so much to see in Southern Utah, it is hard to catch it all in one trip.

What a shot! Add a little orange tint to it and this could be a shot from one of the Mars rovers!

Very cool shot! The moonlight sure adds a different look to the scene. Very well done. Looks like you're having a great time out west.

I like it. Although the white balance looks a little off to me. Play around with the temp in raw and see what else you can get from it as I think with a little temp tweak it really shines.
