Thanks to Preston for the tips on Fall colors in the Yosemite Valley, last Sat. I found myself wandering about in some very intense pockets of leaves! This scene almost reminded me of a snow drift. The Fall Colors were very nice. I missed the Maples, but the Oaks were definitely happening. All comments welcome.

Michael,
I really like this the combo of abundant leaves, moss and rock in this image.
I just got back from Yosemite last night and it was a great weekend. I ended up in the woods just marveling at the volume of leaves which had fallen in an area much like this. And I ended up taking some shots very similar to this just trying to capture the cool experience.

Looks like you found plenty of maples here Michael. That upside down maple down there on the bottom has the perfect shape.

Michael,
Very nice intimate scene from the Valley. Like I just mentioned in Derek's post, I was bummed that I couldn't get up there this weekend.
I simply like the visual contrast between the warmth of the gathered fallen leaves and the solid presence of the cool, granite boulder. A little bit of a "back and forth" composition, but the elements play well together. Glad you were able to make it up there.
