OK, quite different. Taken in an outdoor studio in the forest nearby.
It's a bit of a tryout because I've never done this before.
Quite curious about your opinions
iso 200 1/80 sec. f/8 manual exposure. Two flash guns and some smoke.

Hi Edwin,
What an amazing image, straight out of a sci-fi film from a parallel universe! It is a little too setup for me, but I appreciate the effort that must go into a shot like this.
Cheers,
Lewis.

Thats definately not what I was expecting Edwin, but an awesome shot.
Firstly, I would get rid of the bracken in the top left hand corner as it does nothing for the image.
Secondly, the grass in light on the left hand side of the bridge would need to be as bright as the bit on the right hand side to work or completely lose the light on it and have it in silhouette.
It's like something out of Lord of the Rings! Great effect and definately look forward to seeing more. I love the toadstool!!

I used to think Jeroen was the drug-crazed one - now I'm not so sure
Loose the bracken and it'll be there - I think

I agree too Edwin, it is very very different indeed, sort of works really well though & yes, very atmospheric.
Can I ask something about how the smoke effect was created, there isn't a Mr Danny Green hiding just out of shot smoking a roll up is there Had to ask lol. Hi Danny
I don't think it was the beetle that has been at the mushrooms Edwin
Definately different!

Thanks guys.
No, I'm not on drugs. Probarbly the only cheese head in this country.
The whole setting is natural, including the bracken. The only thing I did manipulate was the 'bridge' and the smoke which comes from a sigarette (no, not a joint)
This is the best shot out of a 100. Quite difficult to get the settings right in the pitch darkeness. Not going to do this again in the near future but it was fun.

Waccy baccy or what??!!
Very surreal but thought provoking too so I can see why you enjoyed yourself!! I like it too but it does need the bracken to go I think.

It must have been a lot of fun in the making but it's too 'busy' for me. Some great ideas in there!

Point made about the bracken, but what an amazing, creative image.

Hi Edwin
Very different and creative - you can imagine the beetle fleeing from a fire and being caught in the headlights of a passing car! I like it.

Have you been eating from my funghi again Edwin...??..
Or...you have been out with those "Baas-Brothers"...
Either way it's creative and daring so hands up for that but i prefer a little more natural setting.

Not what I am used to from you Ed, but I like the idea. Well executed, although I agree about getting rid of the bracken. I wonder what a smoked beetle tastes like.

Thanks guys for all your interesting comments. I received quite some questions about the smoke. Well it's all in the repost. Here's Danny taking a brake from all the smoking. He's done a great job and want to thank him for all his efforts. Thanks matey
OK, back to reality now and consider this as a one timer.
