This photo was inspired by a shot Matt McClellan posted a couple of weeks ago. As my brother Aaron and I entered this cave, I was struck by the golden light reflecting off the wet rock. It was tight in there and a little tricky finding a good composition. I was hoping to get another composition with a better view of the waterfall, but the golden light faded away as I was taking this shot.

I like the rocks but like most HDR the rest of the color is overdone. Scaling back the color on the foliage, in my opinion, would make this a better rendition.

What program did you use?

Isaac,
I like it exactly as it is.

This is great Isaac..A difficult place to shoot. It's nice to see it with so much vibrance!

Isaac really a cool look from a different perpestive. The only suggestion I would have is to tone down the saturation a little for a more nature look. Very cool and well done though.

Really nice light and composition Isaac, but the color does look a bit oversaturated on my monitor. Thanks for sharing.

I'm honored to have inspired you. I really like the shot. I agree with the saturation comments - but only back it down a tad. I love the textures you captured inside the cave.

Thanks everyone.

Fisch - I used Photomatix for the HDR.

It's amazing how much detail you can get with long exposures in side that dark cave. My quick 3 shot HDR didn't work. I'm sure you had about 8 shots or so.

Very close, Aaron - it was 7 shots.
